PETITION-BASED VISAS

 Visa Type Description
 H1B Temporary worker – distinguished merit (specialty occupation)
 K  Spouse or fiancé(e) of U.S. citizen
 L1 Intra-company transferee (executive/managerial, specialized knowledge)
 O1 Alien of extraordinary ability
 Q1 International cultural exchange
 P1 Athlete(s) or entertainment group
 P2 Artist(s) – reciprocal exchange
 P3 Culturally unique artist(s)
 P4 Spouse/child of P-1, P-2 or P-3

To apply for an H1B, K, L1, O1, Q1 or P visa, you will need to schedule an appointment for an interview in advance by emailing at NIV Appointment Request.

H1B, K, L1, O1, Q1 or P visas

At the time of the interview, you MUST bring the following to the Embassy:

  • A passport valid for travel to the United States (At least 6 months beyond the applicant’s intended period of stay in the Unites States).
  •  Fully completed and signed visa application forms (DS-156 & DS-157).
  • Two photographs (click here for important details on photo requirements).
  •  Prior passports, if any.
  • BCIS Extensions, if applicable.
  • BCIS Notice of Action (I-797), if applicable.
  • Complete and updated CV and list of publications.
  • Transcripts from post-high school education, if applicable.
  • Any other documents that may be in support to the application.
