Medical Examinations

Before the issuance of an immigrant visa, every applicant, regardless of age, must undergo a medical examination.  The examination will be conducted by a doctor or clinic designated by the U.S. Embassy.  It is the applicant’s responsibility to cover any examination costs, which come in addition to the visa fees.

Please come to the Embassy on immigrant visa walk-in days, and you will be provided with an envelope containing the medical forms for the panel physician who will examine you, and go to the following clinic for medical examinations:

       POLYCLINIQUE DE DJIBOUTI
       Address: Quartier Commercial
                     Place Lagarde B.P. 1188
                     Djibouti, Rép. De Djibouti

       Phone: (+253) 35 38 59

       Fax: (+253) 35 00 14

Panel physician Name: Dr. Nicholas GEORGALIS

For more information on medical examinations, please follow the link below: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3745.html

Note The average time frame for a medical exam to be completed and results to be returned to the Consular section is between 2 to 3 weeks.  Please follow-up with the clinic, and as soon as their sealed envelope is ready with the results, collect it and bring it to the Embassy.

Vaccinations

Certain types of vaccinations are required for immigrant visa applicants before they are allowed to travel to the United Sates.  Please find details in the following link: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1331.html
