On behalf of the President of the United States, the American people, and all my colleagues who serve the United States in Djibouti, I welcome you to the website of the United States Embassy in Djibouti.

The growing American presence in Djibouti is a reflection of this country’s strategic location and of our commitment to help the people of Djibouti and the region find peace and prosperity and defeat those who threaten freedom.

Djibouti stands firm as a committed ally combating terrorism.  We are partners in that struggle and in Djibouti’s efforts to embrace private-sector led development while investing in its people.  We advocate freedom, religious tolerance, rule of law and diversity.  We seek stability in the Horn of Africa rooted in rising standards of living and political freedom.
